Invest in your community for $20/year

The purpose of the PRGI is to be a voice for Pegasus residents, ensuring their interests and concerns are heard in decision-making that affects our community, resulting in a happy, healthy, connected community and living environment.
​
We advocate on behalf of our members and Pegasus residents on key local issues like our lake, road safety, beach, dog park, and more.
​
​We host community events and initiatives, manage the Pegasus Community Patrol, and support community projects. In partnership with the Waimakariri District Council, we also manage the Pegasus Community Centre, providing resources such as the Community Book Cave, local information, welcome bags for new residents, JP services, and more.
​
It costs just $20 per year (or part-year) to become a member of the Pegasus Residents’ Group.
Our financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March.
Membership benefits
Members stay up to date with what is happening in our community. They receive copies of the PRGI Committee Meeting minutes and are entitled to vote at our Annual General Meeting and any Special General Meetings.
By becoming a member, you are supporting your community and the work we do.
Members also receive exclusive email updates and a monthly newsletter with all the latest information on what is happening in the community including the Lake and updates from the Templeton Group. Read more about why it is important to become a member below.

Why Become a Member
We monitor what is happening in our area and represent and advocate on behalf of our members and the Pegasus community on a range of topics of local significance. The purpose is to be a voice for Pegasus residents, ensuring their interests and concerns are heard in decision making.
Here are just some examples of what the PRGI are involved in:

Advocating for improved water quality and elimination of algal bloom with stakeholders (Templeton Group, WDC, ECan).

Working with developers (Templeton group) on future aspirations for the town centre.

Developing a residents' map of Pegasus and Woodend-Ravenswood.

Facilitating the business case with Enable for Fibre in Pegasus.

Coordinating the Pegasus volunteer Community Watch.

Working with WDC staff to help facilitate the Pegasus Community Centre.

Coordinating volunteers to staff the community centre enabling the public access to free books, jigsaws, and information about Pegasus.

Hosting public meetings on matters that are important to our community.
